Novo Holdings’ Seed Investments is one of the leading early-stage and company creation investors in Europe. Since our inception in 2007, Seed Investments’ ambition is to incubate, build and invest in breakthrough life science companies, with the ultimate goal of developing products that can transform patient treatment.
In addition to direct investments, Seed Investments also invests in select venture funds, and operates the REPAIR Impact Fund (Replenishing and Enabling the Pipeline for Anti-infective Resistance) and a Quantum Fund.
A diverse team of investment professionals
As of year-end 2024, 14 employees work for Seed Investments, all of whom are based in Novo Holdings’ Copenhagen office. We are a diverse team of investment professionals dedicated to partnering and working with scientists and entrepreneurs to build successful biotech companies.
Most team members have a scientific background, such as biology, chemistry or medicine, to ensure a profound understanding of the science and technologies in which we want to invest. The team also brings a wealth of operational experience in pharma and biotech. Our team culture is characterised by a deep sense of curiosity, a hands-on approach, and a collegial and amicable spirit.

Our investment mandate and assets
Seed Investments’ portfolio encompasses more than 35 companies, many of which we have founded or co-founded. Our portfolio companies are primarily in the biotech and MedTech spaces, and we are mandated to invest up to USD 20 million at a time. By year-end 2023, the Seed Investments portfolio’s assets were valued at DKK 4 billion.
